William C. Vasil

William C. Vasil, 80, of Ridgefield, died peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

William was born on February 13, 1943 in New York City; a son of the late Constantine and Cleo (Apostolu) Vasil. 

Despite living his entire life being intellectually challenged, William lived a full and independent life. He worked as a utility steward in various New York City hotel restaurants including the Waldorf Astoria and Intercontinental Hotel and enjoyed visiting with his family. He also enjoyed the music of Dean Martin and loved watching Law & Order. William retired to Ridgefield in 1998.

William is survived by his brother George Vasil and his wife, Linda; his special cousins, Lenore and Sonia Apostolu and many other cousins who loved him dearly.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. The Trisagion prayer service will be offered at the conclusion of the visitation at 6:45 PM.

A graveside funeral service and interment will take place on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mount Hope Cemetery; 50 Jackson Avenue; Hastings on Hudson, NY.
