Remembering "Pumpkin"
William Bernard Slade of Waterbury, Connecticut, also known as "Pumpkin" and "Old Man", was born on March 26, 1980, in Danbury, Connecticut. He was the son of William Earl Slade and Patricia Ann Slade. William was educated in the Danbury Public School system. He had a variety of jobs, and enjoyed action movies as well as BMX bike racing, where he received many trophies in his younger years.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Slade; father, William E. Slade; two brothers, Travis Carrington (North Carolina) and Nikia Riley (Danbury); one stepdaughter, Alexis Lucas (Danbury); four aunts, Ann Wilkins (New Haven), Eleanor Slade (North Carolina), Sheila (BeeBee) Shaw (New Milford) and Judy Randall (Waterbury); two uncles, Ronnie Charles(Danbury), Benjamin Charles, (North Carolina), Felton Slade (Pennsylvania) and Ray Smith ( North Carolina) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Ella Charles and Arcenia Slade.
