William Dolhon Obituary

William Lee Dolhon, 68, a longtime resident of Katonah, died peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025 while surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Debbie (Goin) Dolhon.

Bill was born in New York City on January 27, 1957; the son of the late Joseph and Judith (Katz) Dolhon. After losing his mother as a young child, he was raised by his father, Joe, a former NBA basketball player. Bill inherited his father’s love of sports, and was a lifetime athlete. As a young boy, he raced motocross during summers in Monticello. He continued his athletic career at Lehman College where he excelled at baseball and basketball.

When his children took up their own athletic pursuits, Bill was always present both as a coach and to cheer them on. Later in life, he rode his beloved Harleys, and valued all the trips he took on his bikes with friends and family.

Bill courageously fought cancer for over 40 years, never letting his diagnosis stop him from pursuing a full life with those closest to him. He deeply cherished the second chance at life that Memorial Sloan Kettering gifted him.

Following his first battle with cancer, he became a patient-to-patient volunteer to pay it forward to others facing similar circumstances.

Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debbie, as well as their children who he loved dearly: son, Joseph Dolhon, and his wife, Dominique; son, Jeffrey Dolhon, and his wife, Elizabeth; and daughter, Kimberlee Dolhon. He is also survived by his grandchildren, William and Brock Dolhon, along with his father-in-law, Edward Goin, who was like a father to him.

Family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, CT. Reflections and tributes will be offered at the conclusion of the visitation. Interment will take place privately.
