Wade Meeker, 51, passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2026, leaving behind a deep sense of loss among those who knew and loved him.
Wade is survived by his son, Aidan Meeker, his mother Lynn Meeker, his brother Keith Meeker, his sister Alyson Halas and husband John Halas, his nieces Mila and Layla Meeker and Hannah and Reese Halas, and his partner Rose Capece, as well as many extended family members and friends who will continue to carry his memory forward. In his passing, Wade has been reunited with his father, Harold (Hal) Meeker, his grandparents, Harold Brandes Meeker and Lucille (Fennell) Meeker and Eugene and Evelyn (Kowalski) Tomanio.
Wade was known for many things: his genuine spirit, his huge heart, his steady presence, his loyalty, his fierce protectiveness of those he loved, and the way he made people feel seen and valued.
His single most treasured role in life was being a father to his son, Aidan. Wade offered unending support, encouragement, guidance, laughter, and love to Aidan. It was his role as a father that fueled his life and filled his heart like nothing else could. Together, Aidan and Wade shared a passion for football and their team - The Pittsburgh Steelers. Watching the games together was a cherished and unwavering ritual they both held sacred.
Wade also found comfort, companionship, and love with his partner, Rose. She was his “one” as they referred to each other and he will forever be hers. He spent the last years of his life in daily connection with his loving mother, Lynn. Wade loved her deeply and wanted to be there to offer his care, love, and support.
Though his life was cut tragically short, Wade’s impact will continue to be felt through the relationships he built and the love he shared. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
There will be a graveside funeral service taking place at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury, CT open to the public this coming Saturday, January 24th at 2 PM . In lieu of flowers, a 529 account has been created for his son’s future education. Donations can be made here https://go.fidelity.com/s506lu
