William Irving "Bill" "Billy" Morey, 58, of New Fairfield, husband of Louise (Dodson) Morey, died on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

 Family and friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury, on Sunday, March 12, 2023, from 2 PM to 5 PM. 

Words of Remembrance beginning at 4 PM.  

Interment will take place in Great Plain Cemetery, Danbury, at the direction of the family.

OBITUARY

 

William Irving “Bill” Morey, 58, of New Fairfield, husband of Louise (Dodson) Morey, died on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

 

Affectionately known as “Bill” by many and “Billy” by some, he was born in Danbury on June 5, 1964, a son to the late Irving and Olive (Schultz) Morey. He attended local schools and graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School with the Class of 1983.

 

A lifelong area resident, Bill was a recognized diesel mechanic being employed for the past twenty-six years with North American Equipment of Danbury (NAE).

 

In the prior years, he was a mechanic with his family-owned and operated business the former Town & Country Refuse Co.

 

Amongst his hobbies were Radio Controlled Cars, NASCAR, repairing classic cars and trucks as well as competing in truck pulling competitions.

 

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by a son, Keith Gordon, a daughter, Samantha Gordon, a brother, Dale Morey and his wife Kathleen Genesse, two sisters, Leslie Koellmer and her husband John, and Michele Fragomeli and her husband John, stepmother Victoria Morey,  two grandchildren Madison and Avahylana, brothers in law Kenneth Dodson and Michael (Darlene) Dodson, nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and he did in return regarding them as they were his sons and daughters Heather (Austin) and Erica Morey, Christopher (Kira) and Courtney (Matthew) Fragomeli and John Paul, Olive, and Tyler Koellmer, aunt Laua Hanford, uncle Richard Schultz, and his special family Michael and Laura Rizzo and the NAE staff.


In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his father-in-law Kenneth Dodson Sr. and his best friends William Turner and cousin Kelly Schultz.

 

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury on Sunday, March 12, 2023, from 2 PM to 5 PM with Words of Remembrance at 4 PM.
