Viorel “Willy” Bundra, 66, of Danbury, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025. He was the loving husband of Vida; devoted father of Marijana, Kristina and Filip, father-in-law to Slave, and grandfather to Lukas and Mihailo.
Willy was born in Serbia on April 23, 1959; a son of the late Coriolan and Stanica Bundra. He had a magnetic personality and a love for life that transcended to everyone who he interacted with. Willy was creative and a visionary – which could be seen in everything he did. He was a leader who always saw the best in people. Willy saw in others what they couldn’t see in themselves and inspired them, imparting wisdom to all those around him. He was a great man who was loved by all and consistently extended himself to help others, going above and beyond to help those he loved.
He emigrated to America with his family at the age of nine and was a hard worker from early on. Willy was a proud owner of a successful glass business. He was very passionate about his profession as a glazier and builder, enjoying everything that he did.
Willy was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church. He loved classic cars and nature. He was a pigeon enthusiast and loved animals. He was a kid at heart with a free spirit. Willy was a man with many interests but at his core, he was a family man – a loving husband, father, and incredible grandfather. He went above and beyond for those he loved. He would regularly tell his family, “We’re not a big family, but we have each other.” Willy loved work; loved animals; but he loved his family the most. He was a big part of his grandsons’ lives – he loved and adored them and spent each and every day with them. He enjoyed working with his son and son-in-law. He was always there for his children and was very proud of them. Willy loved weekly Sunday family dinners and going on the many trips with his family to the Caribbean, Florida, Macedonia, and Serbia.
Willy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vida, as well as his children: Marijana and her husband, Slave; Kristina and Filip as well as his grandchildren; Lukas and Mihailo. In addition, he is survived by his siblings; Octavian and Cornelia.
