It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Vincent Gugliaro at his home in Ridgefield CT, surrounded by his family early Thursday morning April 13th, 2023. Vincent was the beloved husband of Rita Gugliaro (Fucito); loving father of Annette and her husband Gerard DeLissio, Michele and her husband Steven Toia, and proud grandfather of Ryan and Michael DeLissio, and Lindsay and Lauren Toia.
He was born in Brooklyn NY on Valentines Day, February 14th 1928. We were blessed to recently celebrate his 95th birthday.
He was a proud WWII Army Veteran, the son of a WWI Veteran and the brother of a WWII Hero. Vincent was a proud member of the American Legion Post 78.
As the Vice President of a trucker’s union, he successfully advocated and negotiated on behalf of thousands. They often referred to him as the peacemaker. Vincent was an avid golfer at the Ridgefield golf course.
When asked the secret to his longevity, his response was one word…LOVE
He will be remembered for his loving heart and for teaching us the importance of family, the value of true friendship, and how to open our hearts to others.
Vincent was predeceased by his mother and father, Antoinette and Philip Gugliaro, his brother Lawrence Gugliaro and sister Josephine Petrassi. He is survived by his brother Phil Gugliaro and Maria Scollo, sister and brother-in-law Patricia and William Gallagher, sister-in-law Mildred DeStefano and many nieces and nephews.
