Valerie Jane Stagen, 79, wife of Paul Stagen Jr. died on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT.
Friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM. A Prayer Service will take place at 7:30PM. The Funeral will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11 AM in the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, 74 Joes Hill Rd., Danbury. Interment will take place in East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton, NJ. Contributions in Valerie's memory may be made to to Holy Trinity Church.
OBITUARY
Valerie Jane Stagen, 79, of Danbury, wife of Paul Stagen Jr., died on Sunday, July 6,2025 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford.
Mrs. Stagen was born in Passaic, NJ daughter of the late Howard and Margaret (Hrib) Kent. She attended New Jersey schools and graduated from Clifton High School.
A resident of Danbury for the past 43 years coming from New Jersey she was involved in the Danbury community. She was a CT Master Gardener, an Advanced Master Gardener (CT), a member of the Danbury Women’s Club, a volunteer with Regional Hospice of Western CT, a member of the New Fairfield Senior Center and a member of the Danbury War Memorial.
She was an avid canasta player, a baking volunteer at the United Methodist Church of Danbury and a perogie crew volunteer at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of Danbury.
She is survived by her husband Paul Stagen Jr. and a brother Howard Kent.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 74 Joes Hill Rd., Danbury.
Burial will take place in East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton, NJ.
Friends will be received on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM and 8PM.
Contributions in Mrs. Stagen’s memory may be made to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church.
