Thomas Charles McLachlan died at his home on September 27, 2021, in Boynton Beach, Florida at the age of 66. Tom is survived by his siblings, Harry McLachlan, IV (Patricia) and Michael McLachlan (Alesia) of Danbury, CT; Susan Brown (Robert) of Sayre, OK; Ann Cowan of Elk City, OK; and nine nieces and nephews and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Harry & Helen McLachlan and sisters, Grace Colson, and Margaret Cerchiara. Tom was born on May 27, 1955, in Danbury to Harry McLachlan, III, and Helen Deakin McLachlan and was the sixth of seven children. He graduated from Danbury High School – Class of 1973 and attended Naugatuck Valley Community College. Tom began his career as a cook at the King Neptune Restaurant in Ridgefield, CT where he learned his trade from the best. He went on to many successful restaurants and clubs, including the Bulls Bridge Inn, Kent, CT; The Everglades Club, Palm Beach, FL; Lake Toxaway Country Club, NC; and Atlantis Country Club, FL. Tom loved the game of golf since a toddler growing up at Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury. As an adult, he had clubs in the trunk year-round and surely played many dozens of golf courses across the country. He enjoyed reminiscing about the greatest courses he played and joining his brothers watching sister Ann competing in golf tournaments. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 10:30 am in St. Peter Church, 121 Main St., Danbury. There are no calling hours.
