Susan Denise Cocco died unexpectedly on Friday, July 26, 2024. Her family is devastated by her loss, and they know those who knew this smart, funny, intellectually curious, and totally cool woman, and felt her impact on their lives also feel a sense of common loss. Susan was an accomplished marketing executive, gardener, cook, writer, history and culture aficionado, art lover, political operative, community activist, and advocate. She was a fierce, devoted daughter, mother, sister, cousin, and aunt. And, she was a friend, colleague, mentor, and ally to many.
Susan is survived by her daughters, Francesca and Gianna Capodilupo, her sister Marie Cocco and her husband Thomas Burrows, and their children, her brother Stephen Cocco and his wife Marcela Cocco, and their daughter, and, her brother Anthony Cocco.
This time has been difficult for our family, and we are so grateful for the outpouring of support, sympathies, kindness, and memories from all corners of Susan’s life.
We encourage you to share your memories here, and if you’d like to donate in Susan Cocco’s honor, please consider contributing to Emily’s List in support of women candidates up and down the ballot, https://win.emilyslist.org/a/donate-to-emily or the American Cancer Society, https://donate.cancer.org.
Services will be held privately; a formal obituary is forthcoming.
