Suk Chun, 91 years of age, passed away on Saturday, February 29th at home with his family and loved ones surrounding him. Suk led a full life having traveled the world extensively, visiting over 50 countries.
In 1977, Suk moved the entire Chun family from South Korea to the United States where they have resided since. Suk was a lifelong Connectican at heart having spent almost 30 years in Ridgefield and Stamford, along with brief stints in Delaware and Maine.
A perpetual academic and learner, Suk will be remembered for his compassion and dedication to others regardless of whether they were family, friends or strangers. He led multiple moves from Maine to Connecticut and subsequently to Delaware, in order to care for and support his children and young grandchildren. The family plans to lay Suk to rest in one of his favorite places in Cape Elizabeth, ME.
Suk is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kee Chun, his son Hwangchul Chun of Fairfield, CT, his elder daughter Sunghea Shoener of Ridgefield, CT, his younger daughter Sungwon Lee of Chadds Ford, PA and six grandchildren.
A visitation will take place at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield on Monday March 2, 2020 from 12:00 to 12:45 PM with a prayer service to follow beginning at 12:45.
