Sue Gillaugh Obituary

Sue Annette (Magee) Gillaugh

Sue went to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

Sue was born in Bradford, PA to Bernice (Ellison) and Roland Magee. She graduated from Indiana University—Pennsylvania with a teaching degree in home economics. On her way to her first job, she met John Gillaugh as he was showing her apartments. Thus began a loving relationship that grew and thrived over the course of their 69-year marriage. That marriage resulted in three children, Laurie, David and Lynda who flourished under her love and care.

Sue had three main loves, her husband, her family and her church. She supported all with intense love, wisdom and knowledge, the bounds of which were never reached.

Sue is survived by her husband, John, her three children Laurie (Kevin), David (Diane), and Lynda (Jeff), their eight grandchildren and their ten great-grandchildren.

We ask that you embrace and hold tight to the love and qualities of Sue that made her special to you, and to us. Please continue to live by all that she has taught us. In that way, the example of her love and teaching will go on. Help us in celebrating a life well lived.

A memorial service in celebration of Sue's life will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church; 207 Main Street, Ridgefield. Entombment of cremated remains will follow in the Jesse Lee Church Memorial Garden. After the memorial service and placement of cremated remains, all are welcome to join the Gillaugh Family for a reception at the Jesse Lee Church Carriage House.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sue's memory may be made to Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church or Danbury Regional Hospice.

Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield is in care of arrangements.
