Steven M. Fredenburg, 68, of Southbury, formerly of San Diego, California, husband of Sandra (Troussel) Fredenburg, died on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Danbury Hospital.
A San Diego native, Mr. Fredenburg was born on December 11, 1954, the son of the late Emery and Arlene (Machado) Fredenburg. He attended San Diego schools including Hoover High where he sang in the Barbershop Quartet.
A resident of Southbury for the past year coming from San Diego, Mr. Fredenburg was a retired electronic technician having worked at General Dynamics, Doric, and Anacomp.
He was a huge NASCAR, Dallas Cowboys, and San Diego Padres fan, enjoyed bowling, was a Madison High School Warhawk Marching Band Prop Dad/Crew, loved classic rock music and working on fast cars but felt equally at home with a glass of Chardonnay while listening to smooth jazz.
In addition to his wife of forty-seven years, Mr. Fredenburg is survived by a daughter Shawna Fantel and her husband Brian, and their children Brooklyn and August. He was preceded in death by his son Jason Fredenburg.
Funeral services will take place in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 1 PM.
Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home on Monday after 12:15 p.m.
