Ruth L. Andreasen, 95, of Danbury, wife of the late Harry E. Andreasen, died on Tuesday afternoon, June 22, 2021, at her home.
Mrs. Andreasen was born in Brooklyn, New York, May 3, 1926, beloved daughter of the late George J. and Lillian (MacKay) Keil and sister of the late Edwin Keil. She attended New York schools. She was a resident of Danbury in 1962 coming from Brooklyn, NY after marrying her beloved husband. She enjoyed square dancing, hosting social gatherings for family and friends, and traveling.
Mrs. Andreasen was a member of the Danbury Madhatter’s Square Dance Club for many years, where she acquired many special and long-time friends, and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Danbury.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Wood and her husband John of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Nancy Mondrey and her husband, C. Oliver from Richmond, Virginia and Sylvia Person and her husband, Robert of Danbury, three granddaughters whom she loved dearly, Reagan Miller, Caitlin Cake, and Michelle Mondrey, and six cherished great-grandchildren, Penelope, Avery, and Mackenzie Cake, Noah, Ella, and Lila Miller. She is survived by her brother George Keil, of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Ruth’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Sunday, July 11, 2021, from 1 PM to 2:30 PM.
Funeral services will immediately follow.
Following funeral services, the interment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Danbury. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or any other Dementia research. www.alz.org
