Roy Richard Schulze, 82, of Danbury, husband of the late Mary Schulze passed away on December 29, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Roy was born in Danbury, Connecticut on March 9, 1939, a son of the late Arnold and Emma (Gratz) Schulze. He attended Danbury Schools graduating from Henry Abbott Technical High School in 1957. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Schulze was a retired electrician for the IBEW Local 488 Union and recently received the sixty-year pin from the union.
An avid hunter and true outdoorsman, Roy will be remembered as a man of few words with a friendly smile and a strong will. There wasn’t a single object his hard-working hands couldn’t fix nor build.
Roy is survived by a son, Michael (Karen) Schulze of Danbury, Ct., a daughter, Celeste (Dave) Ruggiero of Danbury, Ct., and his grandchildren, Alexa Arsenault and Jake Ruggiero. In addition to his wife, Roy was predeceased by his brothers, Howard and Arnie Schulze.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Dr. Vincent Rella and his caring team at Danbury Hospital as well as the compassion and comfort Roy received in his final days from the warm and friendly staff at Regional Hospice.
