Roy Clark Kohli

Roy Clark Kohli, 80, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Ridgefield, CT passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025. He was the loving husband of Gail Iafratto Kohli.

Roy was born on October 20, 1944 in Mount Vernon NY; a son of the late David and Margaret Kohli. 

He joined the Marine Corps at a young age and proudly served his country in Vietnam. Once home, he answered an ad for an electrical supply company and was given the job as a truck driver. Going to community college at night and working days, he grew! Over the next 45 plus years, he turned Benfield Electric into what it is today. Developing their international division, becoming President & CEO and eventually, Chairman. He was proud of the hard work and accomplishments he had achieved. 

Roy married his beautiful wife, Gail on June 3, 1972. They created a family with their two children, Heather and Adam. He was a family man through and through. Spending summers and weekends throughout the years at their lake house boating, jet skiing, snowmobiling, etc. 

At the age of 40 he took to golf, as this became a passion of his until the end. Roy also had a passion for cars, and sported his many hot rods through the years. 

His grandchildren were a special part of his life. The time he spent with them, his stories, and teachings are something they will hold dear forever. 

Roy is survived by his wife, Gail, as well as his children, Heather Moran and Adam Kohli; their spouses; Jonathan Moran and Stephanie Yurasek; his grandchildren, Austin, Evan, Claudia and Michael; his sister, Jeannie Williams, and a number of loving nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A memorial service in celebration of Roy's life will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church; 353 Main Street, Ridgefield. Interment will take place privately.
