Rose Mary (Dougherty) Condron

Rose Mary (Dougherty) Condron, 92, of Ridgefield, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at home, with her son and daughter-in-law at her side. She was the loving wife of the late Andrew Condron, who passed away in June.

Rose was born on January 9, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, the first child of the late Charles and Margaret (McGroary) Dougherty. The oldest of 8 children, she returned to Ireland with her parents at age 2, and grew up on the farm in Donegal. Rose returned to the US in her 20's and had a variety of jobs, eventually working for a time at General Motors in Manhattan. She met Andrew Condron at a dance, was married in 1962, and spent the next 59 years with him.  

A resident of Ridgefield for almost 6 years, Mrs. Condron previously lived in Port Richey, Florida and Yonkers, NY. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Church of Ridgefield.

Mrs. Condron is survived by her sister, Margaret Wilson of Canada and brothers, Charles and Michael Dougherty of Ireland; two children; Charles Condron and his wife, Mary (Callahan) and Ann Condron and her husband, Steven Koenig. In addition, Mrs. Condron is survived by 3 granddaughters; Claire, Amanda and Marie Condron.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Seton Church; 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery; 110 North Street, Ridgefield.
