Ronald F. Ridgeway, 89, of The Villages, FL, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. He was the loving husband of the late Marlene Frances Ridgeway.
Mr. Ridgeway was born in Danbury, CT on October 16, 1936, a son of the late Kenneth and Anne (Szymanski) Ridgeway. Mr. Ridgeway was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury, CT; he later went on to serve in the Army as a Military Policeman stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.
A retired Union carpenter, Mr. Ridgeway, resided in Florida for the past 18 years. Prior to Florida, Ron and his wife Marlene were long time residents of New Fairfield, CT. Ron and Marlene enjoyed traveling together taking many Windjammer cruises throughout the Virgin Islands and other islands of the Caribbean.
Mr. Ridgeway is survived by his son, Ronald Ridgeway and spouse Diane Ridgeway, his daughter Katie Mead and spouse Scott Mead; his daughter-in-law Cherri Ridgeway, his son Edmond Ridgeway (deceased), his stepchildren, Carol Hichborn, Scott Fine, Peggy Kaufman, Tom Barbarie and Michelle Barbarie and their spouses, his brother Rev. Kenneth E. Ridgeway SM, his brother Walter Ridgeway and spouse Margaret “Peg” Ridgeway, and his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Saint Edward the Confessor Church; 21 Brush Hill Road, New Fairfield. Interment and US Army Funeral Honors will follow in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury. There will be no calling hours.
