Rochelle Hasson

Rochelle Hasson, 74, of Ridgefield, died peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Rochelle was born on June 23, 1949 in New York City; the daughter of the late Lawrence and Hortense (Friedman) Block. She grew up in Yonkers, NY where she lived for much of her life.  After graduating from Roosevelt HS, she went on to college where she obtained a Masters in Education.

A resident of CT since 2019, Rochelle was a retired Junior High School Resource Room Teacher from New York City Public Schools. She enjoyed playing backgammon and created a club where she taught backgammon and made several friends. She loved the beach and sunsets, photography, decorating, music, dancing and anything crafty. She was a talented and creative seamstress and also ran a nail salon out of her home. 

Rochelle is survived by her daughter, Allyson Jackson and her husband, Albert; as well as her grandchildren, Albert, Davonte and Sarah. In addition, Rochelle is survived by her brother, Paul Block and his wife, Lucy; her niece Jacqueline Block and her nephew Jeffrey Block and his wife, Cena. 

Friends and family are invited to gather at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, CT on Thursday, June 27, 2024 starting at 11:00 AM. The service will begin at 12:00 PM.
