Robert J. Dangaard, 73, of Danbury died on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Danbury Hospital.
Affectionately known as “Bobby Dee”, he was born at New Milford Hospital to the late John and Harriet (Powell) Dangaard.
A lifelong Danbury resident, he attended local schools and was a retired employee of the City of Danbury Parks Department. Bobby was well known through his involvement in local sports and employment in hospitality.
He was honored as a recipient of the Old Timer’s Athletic Association of Greater Danbury Award and an inductee of the Greater Danbury USBC Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
Bobby was an avid golfer, enjoyed tennis, and played industrial league softball.
He was loved by so many and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his two brothers, Mark Dangaard of Danbury and Bill Miller and his wife Kimberly King of Wethersfield, CT, his longtime companion Maylise West and her two daughters Sarah West and Marcie West, his nieces and nephews Madison King, Chris Miller, Abigail King, Bryson Miller, and Lauren Durkin.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Linda Durkin, sister-in-law Melissa Miller, and stepfather Harry Miller.
Friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Burial will take place privately.
A Celebration of Bobby Dee’s Life will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Anthony’s Lake Club, 10 Christopher Columbus Ave., Danbury. All are invited to attend.
