Richard Charles Natoli

Dr. Richard Charles Natoli, 93, of Dix Hills Long Island, NY and Ridgefield, CT, died peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025. He was the loving husband of the late Albertina (Colli) Natoli.

Dr. Natoli was born in East New York, New Jersey on June 29, 1931; a son of the late Joseph and Rose Natoli. 

He was a graduate of North Carolina University before he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he traveled the world for four years on board a Fletcher Class Destroyer, first as a Medical Corpsman and later promoted to General Medical Officer by his end of tour.

Richard completed his Medical Studies at The University of Bologna in Italy where he met his wife Albertina and were married before he returned stateside to embark on a brilliant career spanning more than 50 years as an Anesthesiologist at North Shore Hospital.

Upon retirement Doctor Richard Natoli traded in his stethoscope for a paintbrush - which he quickly found to be a passionate and rewarding hobby. Since those humble beginnings, Richard became a commissioned Artist and his artwork was prominently displayed in several NY area galleries. Most recently Richard moved to Ridgefield Station where he enjoyed his last two years in creating new friendships and taking part in various community activities.

Dr. Natoli is survived by his son, Riccardo Natoli; his nephews, Stephen Scala, William Scala and Edward Scala as well as numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. 

In addition to his wife and parents, Dr. Natoli was predeceased by a sister, Violet Scala who was a long time Ridgefield resident as well.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary’s Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will take place privately.
