Ralph Lederman, 76, of Danbury, died peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Nelson) Lederman.
Mr. Lederman was born on November 20, 1948 in the Bronx; a son of the late Hy and Ceilia (Gorchoff) Lederman. He served in the Army Reserves and graduated from the School of Visual Arts for Advertising.
Mr. Lederman was a retired Advertising Executive; working as an Art Director and Commercial Director for TSR, Rotter Group Advertising agencies, and eventually starting his own agency R Squared. His notable campaigns were for numerous children’s toy companies including Mattel and Galoob and directing over 100 commercials including memorable campaigns for Sun Country Wine Cooler, Casio G-Shock, My Little Pony, Micro Machines and more. This also included various kids sports toy commercials with all star athletes like Peyton Manning and Nolan Ryan.
His career enabled him to travel, often spending extensive amounts of time on productions in Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver, and Australia.
He was also a very talented artist, painting and drawing realistic portraits and still life images with personality and patience. In his downtime, he enjoyed fishing, either Mexico, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef or Long Island. Other pastimes included going to the movies with his sons, drawing with his grandson, going out with Pat and their friends, and spending holidays with his siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Mr. Lederman is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia as well as his son, Brian Scott Lederman and his wife, Monica. Mr. Lederman is also survived by his grandson, Braden Straton Lederman; his sister, Eliane Seigel and her husband, Max; his brother, Scott Lederman and his wife, Mary; his brother in law and sister in law, Ed & Diane Nelson. In addition, Mr. Lederman is survived by his nieces and nephews: Johanna and Wade Brown, Jonathan and Abbey Lederman, Katherine and Dan Kranz, Jessica and Bill Shaw, Daniel Lederman, Kathryn and Josh Kluzak, Sarah Schneyer, Michael and Taylor Nelson, Alicia and Mike Bohlinger, Andrea and Nick Mazza as well as 19 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lederman was predeceased by his son, Matthew Benjamin Lederman.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home - 25 Catoonah Street; Ridgefield, CT. A memorial prayer service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 12:30 PM in the Cemetery of the Holy Rood - 111 Old Country Road; Westbury, NY.
