Phyllis Mayer

Phyllis Mayer, 67, of Jackson Heights, New York, died peacefully on Saturday, May 27, 2023. She was the loving wife of Robert Charles Mayer, and mother of Christina Lisa Mayer.

Phyllis was born on September 9, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY; the daughter of the late John and Jenny Cangialosi.

A resident of Jackson Heights for the last 40+ years, Phyllis worked as an administrative assistant, in international inspection for Citi Bank, and later was a school sectary for the NYC Public School system. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, making clothing, taking care of her family, and anyone else that needed any kind of help.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Robert of 39 years, as well as her daughter, Christina L. Mayer, her brother, Joey Cangialosi, sister, Jennie Arnold, sister-in-law, Susan Hochberg, as well as her nieces, nephews, and many friends. 

A graveside funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Saint Mary's Cemetery; 110 North Street, Ridgefield. There will be no calling hours.
