Phyllis Gargiulo, of North Salem, NY, transitioned peacefully into the brilliance of her Divine Spirit on September 16, 2024.
She was a brilliant example of Love in thought, word and deed throughout her long life of 94 years. She is now in the loving embrace of her husband, John, her daughter, Denise, her parents, Anthony & Lillian and her sister, Kathleen who have pre-deceased her.
Outside of being a devoted wife and mother, Phyllis worked for several years at the North Salem High School. She left there to work at Union Carbide in Danbury, CT for 20 years. Yet, she was well known in the community for her 15 years of service at the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library.
Her world, though, revolved around her family. Being a mom was her calling, as she was the embodiment of God’s love and she shared that love willingly. She always put others before herself. She had that rare ability of making everyone feel as if they were the most important person in the room as she enveloped them in her warmth and caring.
She leaves a Legacy of love not only to her family, but to all the lives she touched. This legacy will continue through her son, daughters, son-in-law, sister, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Her love and memory will continue to bless us all.
She will be dearly missed by all who love her. As she would always say when someone was leaving, “See you later alligator…Not for a while crocodile.” We may not see you for a while, Mom, but you’ve taught us that we will indeed see you again.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in June Cemetery; North Salem, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 427, Croton Falls, NY 10519 or Regional Hospice of Danbury.
