Peter J. Hylenski, 77, of Danbury, CT passed away of leukemia on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
He was born in Port Chester, NY to parents Peter P. and Bessie (Kosek) Hylenski, and grew up in Greenwich, CT. He graduated from the J.M. Wright Technical School of Stamford, where he majored in drafting.
He married the love of his life, Angela (Falanka) Hylenski, in 1970.
Peter had a long career as a design engineer for several companies, including Wildey Firearms and Winchester Firearms, and retired from Kimber Manufacturing of Yonkers, NY, where he was a senior design engineer.
As an avid outdoorsman, Peter loved hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He and Angela traveled the world together.
He was a proud veteran, a life member of the NRA, a member of the Fairfield County Fish and Game Protective Association, and he loved attending and serving at the First Assembly of God in Brookfield, CT, where he helped lay the cornerstone.
In addition to Angela, whom he called his “princess,” Peter is survived and dearly loved and missed by his son, Peter A. Hylenski and wife Suzanne (New York, NY), two daughters, Kristen Hylenski (Duluth, MN) and Alison Peppers and her husband Shawn (Atlanta, GA), his sister Linda McGill and her husband Dino (Houston, TX), four grandchildren, Wren, Jovie, Truett, and Marvel, and several nieces and nephews. We remember him in our hearts for his smile, his sense of humor, his patience, and his calm and gentle spirit.
