Peter Louis Green, 81 of Maine (formerly of Ridgefield), died suddenly at his home in Maine on Friday, February 7, 2020. He was born on October 8, 1938 in Mt. Kisco, New York. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Paris) Green, his sons Peter and Carl of Danbury and daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Richard Arnold of New Milford; two granddaughters, Kayla and Alissa Arnold of New Milford, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Greg Kozlowski of Washington State, brother-in-laws Don Paris of Virginia, and Robert Paris of Vermont, sister-in-law Eileen Paris Might of Virginia and several nieces and nephews. He was the son of Peter and Marion Remowaldo Green and grandson of Luigi and Emily Baily Remowaldo. He was also predeceased by sister, Constance Green Pascale Geyer and half-brother, Arne Green.
He worked for the Ridgefield Photo Shop until enlisting in the Navy. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked again at the Ridgefield Photo Shop and later Perkin Elmer. While at Perkin Elmer, he was the Chief Photographer and worked on the Hexagon, Hubble Telescope and many government projects. During his spare time, he was a Ridgefield Volunteer Fireman and Paramedic and a Master Carpenter. After retiring from Perkin Elmer, he worked as a carpenter full-time and owned Lumbercrafts Carpentry in Ridgefield. He continued Lumbercrafts in Maine when he and his wife moved there in the early 90’s. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and golfing with his buddies.
A Service in his honor will be held on July 31, 2021 at 2 PM at The First Congregational Church; 103 Main Street, Ridgefield with a reception following for family and friends.
