Pauline Guertin Almgren passed peacefully, September 23, 2024 following a brief illness. Pauline was born March 6, 1936, raised in Danbury, CT, and was one of eight children. She moved to Ridgefield in 1955 when she married the love of her life, Rolf Almgren. Their 70th wedding anniversary was to be in December. Pauline worked at Danbury Hospital in the Pediatrics Department beginning in 1973 and enjoyed the more than 30 years she spent there helping children and their parents.
Pauline loved attending Bluegrass Music Festivals and bringing people together. Gathering with family, friends and loved ones was one of her favorite things. She enjoyed hosting everyone and always made sure people had plenty of food. She taught herself how to cook and with 5 kids that played sports, she learned to cook for an army. She was known for her tomato sauce and chocolate chip cookies. Pauline found joy in doting on her grandchildren and spending as much time with them as she could. She will be remembered for her love, kindness and generosity. Her beautiful spirit lives on in each of us and all that knew her.
Pauline is survived by her loving husband, Rolf and their five children, Daniel (Paula) of Lenox, MA, Kenneth (Robin) of Tyringham, MA, Ronald (Chardee) of New York, NY, Dorene (Dave) of Mechanicsburg, PA and Victor (Sherri) of Bettendorf, IA.
