Nancy Norton Pastula

Nancy Norton Pastula, 94, of Ridgefield, CT passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late John S. Pastula.

Nancy was born in NY on March 31, 1930; a daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret (Mayer) Norton. She grew up in Rockaway Beach, NY, Kew Gardens, NY, Forest Hills, NY, and Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Nancy met the love of her life, John, while dancing at the roller skating rink. They celebrated 67 beautiful years of marriage. Nancy and her husband, John lived in Garden City, NY for 45 years and were long time members of the Garden City Country Club, Garden City Casino Tennis Club, and the Country Club in Sun City West, Arizona where they had a winter home overlooking the golf course, lake and mountains. Nancy and John loved spending time together. They enjoyed driving cross country and had an active social life. They enjoyed dancing, dining out, going to the theatre, golf, bridge, bowling and evening walks together, and of course, stopping for ice cream. 

Nancy was an active volunteer at Winthrop Hospital and Schneider Children’s Hospital for many years. She loved planning and organizing fundraising events. 

In 2008, Nancy and John relocated to Ridgefield to be closer to family. She was a member of Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church of Ridgefield. Nancy enjoyed bridge, Mah-Jongg, reading, pottery and spending time with family and friends. 

Nancy is survived by her children; John R. Pastula and his wife, Tricia, and Linda Pastula-Lucchino and her husband, Al. Nancy is also survived by her grandchildren; Jacquelyn Memoli and her husband Michael, and Sam Pastula; as well as her great granddaughters, Gabriella and Catherine. She is also survived by her sister in law, Nancy Norton and her cousin, Jane Munson.

Nancy is predeceased by her husband John, both parents, and brother Robert Norton.

A funeral service in celebration of Nancy's life will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church; 353 Main Street, Ridgefield. Following the funeral service, all are welcome to gather with the family at Saint Stephen's North Hall. Interment will take place privately; there will be no calling hours.
