OBITUARY
Mildred Boughton, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 5, 2023, at Maplewood Senior Living in Newtown. She was the wife of the late Alden Boughton, with whom she shared 62 wonderful years of marriage; they were truly a match made in Heaven. Mildred was born on June 17, 1931, and lived in Danbury before moving to Newtown in 2019 where she made many friends and thoroughly enjoyed her life at Maplewood. Anyone who knew Mildred was touched by her kindness, humor, positive nature, and love for her family. She was the example of how to stay in-touch with friends that lasted a lifetime. All through her life, she always found a way to help someone in need, from cooking for a sick friend to saving bingo winnings to donate to the church food bank. From the time she was a small girl she was a faithful member of Saint James' Church in Danbury. The family wishes to thank all the members of the Saint James' community that continually provided Mildred with spiritual support.
Mildred was predeceased by her husband Alden, Daughter Brenda, and grandson Andrew Cruz. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Cruz and her husband Phillip of Newtown, and son Michael and his wife Margaret of Yorktown, VA. A special thanks to Gregory Smith and the entire staff at Maplewood Newtown for providing Mildred with a loving and caring community giving her the best quality of life that anyone could have in their final years.
