Michael Cali Obituary

Michael Joseph Cali, 86, of Ridgefield, CT, passed away peacefully at his home in Narragansett, RI on July 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of JoAnn (Lewis) Cali for sixty-two years. Born in 1938 in New York, NY, he was a son of the late Joseph M. and Frances M. (DeMelfi) Cali.

Mr. Cali was a proud US Navy Aviation Veteran.

He was an electrician with IBEW Local 3 in New York City for 40+ years before retiring.

A man of many interests and talents, Mr. Cali was a fearless and gifted artist and craftsman: he enjoyed painting, furniture building, liked to cook and took several stabs at playing various musical instruments.

An ever-present positive influence and support for his family and friends, Mr. Cali set a selfless example spanning decades. He was always at the ready to help, whether it was through encouragement or with his handiwork, and left a positive impact on virtually everyone who knew him.

His family was the center of his world, and he took delight in developing singular relationships with them all – from the adults to the new-born…everyone had a special bond and felt it.

In addition to his wife, he leaves three children, Michelle Sullivan and her husband Joseph of Ridgefield, CT, Joseph M. Cali and his wife Linda of Ridgefield, CT and Dean P. Cali and his wife Lisa of Rye, NY; a brother, Gerald J. Cali and his wife June of Dunnellon, FL; seven grandchildren, Joseph (Emily), Rachel (Matt), Michael, Rebecca, Sophia, Alexander and Hannah; and four great-grandchildren, Victoria, Kate, Mackenzie and Joseph.
