Mary Jane Anderson, 78, of Ridgefield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. She was the loving wife of Carl R. Anderson. Mary Jane was born in New York City on January 5, 1943; a daughter of the late John and Rose (DeAngelis) Scioscia. She was a graduate of Tuckahoe High School and received her associate's degree at St. Mary's Pediatric Nursing School and Hospital in Bayside, NY.
Mary Jane was a longtime resident of Westchester County. In 2007, Mary Jane became a resident of Ridgefield, CT. She proudly demonstrated the Tennessee Walking Horses breed; competing in many National Tennessee Walking Horse Association competitions across the tri-state area with her horse, Duke. Mary Jane was a past Vice President of the Westchester Horse Council as well as a board member. Mary Jane also enjoyed cooking, gardening and entertaining for her family and friends. She was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth Seton Church of Ridgefield.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 59 years, Carl, and their 4 children: Cara Nasta and her husband, Joseph, Valerie White, Rosellen Amoriello and her husband, Alex and Erik Anderson and his wife, Anita. Mary Jane is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Nicole and Gianna Nasta, Chelsea Ghegan and her husband Jonathan, Daniel White, Alexa and Sabrina Amoriello, and Mark and Emma Anderson. Mary Jane is also survived by her brother in law, John Anderson. She also had a loving relationship with her long time aide, Georgia Campbell.
Friends will be received on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Saint Elizabeth Seton Church; 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield, CT. Interment will take place privately. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, http://www.diabetes.org.
For attendance at the walk through visitation, facial coverings, social distancing and hand sanitizing are required. Guests are asked to pay their respects promptly and kindly take their leave from the funeral home so others may have the opportunity to do the same. Please do not socialize with other guests at the funeral home.
