Mary T. Quaide

Mary T. (Halleran) Quaide, 93, of Ridgefield, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Maurice Quaide and loving mother of the late Kevin Quaide.

Mrs. Quaide was born on May 23, 1931 in Queens, NY; a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Lucas) Halleran. Mrs. Quaide is survived by her grandson, Daniel Quaide, as well as many colleagues and friends.

A longtime resident of Ridgefield, Mrs. Quaide was the retired office manager of New England Equine Practice (NEEP). For nearly 40 years, she helped manage the growth and day to day operations of the veterinary practice with grace, good humor and never-ending efficiency.  Through her work, she made many lifelong friends. She and her late husband, Maurice enjoyed boating and travelling. Mrs. Quaide also enjoyed nature and the birds and other animals that would visit her yard. It was one of her great pleasures to feed the many animals that visited her back yard every single day. It wasn’t unusual to see a red-tailed hawk or a racoon sitting on her back porch patiently waiting for its afternoon snack.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will take place privately in Connecticut State Veteran's Cemetery, Middletown and there will be no calling hours.
