Mary V. LaTronica

Mary V. LaTronica, 94, of Loma Linda, California; longtime resident of Pound Ridge, NY, died peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Robert P. LaTronica.

Mrs. LaTronica was born in the Bronx on January 15, 1930; a daughter of the late Isadore and Antonia (Settembrini) Scaffidi. She graduated from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, MA in 1951 and earned her Masters Degree from Queens College in Queens, NY. 

Mrs. LaTronica taught at Sts. Philip and James School in the Bronx and Bedford Elementary School. Later, she taught at Pound Ridge Elementary School and was a Library Media Specialist at the Meadow Pond School in Lewisboro, NY from which she retired. 

Mrs. LaTronica and her late husband, Robert, were residents of Pound Ridge for more than 55 years, before she relocated to California in 2015.

Mrs. LaTronica is survived by her children: Michael LaTronica, Barbara Harris and Peter LaTronica and his wife, Kathy. Mrs. LaTronica is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Saint Aloysius Church; 21 Cherry Street, New Canaan. Interment will follow in Pound Ridge Cemetery; 15 West Lane, Pound Ridge. There will be no calling hours.
