Mary Anne Hoeppner

Mary Anne Hoeppner, formerly a long time resident of Danbury, passed away on February 17th, 2025 surrounded by family and friends. 

Mary was born in Chicago, IL on November 9, 1942, the daughter of the late John and Mary Grace Lochbihler. Mary attended St. Edward’s Grammar School and graduated from Alvernia High School, both on Chicago’s Northwest side. She attended St. Vincent’s Infant Hospital of Nursing, and after graduation worked at Edgewater Hospital in Chicago and then Skokie Valley Community Hospital in Skokie, Illinois.

Tom and Mary met in 1958 as they were both employed in the Jewel Food grocery store and were later married at St. Edward’s Church in Chicago in 1966.  After raising three children, Mary never returned to nursing, but later worked for St. Gregory’s Church in Danbury as a sacramental director.    

Mary is survived by her brother James (Molly) Lochbihler and sister Margaret Kotnour; children Laurie (Brian) DoBosh, Robert (Christine) and Brian (Jennifer) Hoeppner.  She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Justin (Sara) and Noah (Chanel) DoBosh, Zachary, Ryan, Sydney, Michael & Madeline Hoeppner, great grandson James and many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Thomas Hoeppner and her brother John Lochbihler. 

A celebration of life and interment will take place at a date and time to be announced.
