Mary E. Flanagan

Mary E. Flanagan, “Momo”, 99, of Ridgefield, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Patrick L. Flanagan.

Mrs. Flanagan was born in Ballymore, County Westmeath, Ireland on January 1, 1926; a daughter of the late William and Annie (Kelly) McCauley. She came to the United States in 1948, settled in Brooklyn, NY where she met her husband Patrick, also a native of Ireland. They both became US citizens in 1954.

A resident of Ridgefield since 1972, Mrs. Flanagan was a parishioner of Saint Mary’s Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed time spent with family, as well as cooking and gardening. She was well known amongst family and friends for her Momo Muffins and Pancakes.

Mrs. Flanagan is survived by three of her four children: Neil Flanagan, Robert Flanagan and his wife, Sharon, and Patricia Carraturo and her husband, Thomas. Mrs. Flanagan is also survived by her grandchildren: Kelly Flanagan and her husband, David Hawkins; Colleen Flanagan and her husband, Kyle Savage; Sean Flanagan and his wife, Brianna; Daniel Flanagan, Matthew Flanagan and his wife, Stephanie; Conor Flanagan, Devon Flanagan and her fiancé, William Shaughnessy; Ryan Flanagan, Justin Flanagan, Thomas Carraturo, Brian Carraturo and Jack Carraturo; as well as her great grandson, Theodore Kevin Hawkins and her daughters in law, Patricia Flanagan and Sara Flanagan.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Flanagan was predeceased by her son, Kevin Flanagan and her sister and best friend, Kathleen Restaino who predeceased her by three months.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield. There will be no calling hours.
