Marshall Gary Lederman, age 72, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, at 5:38 AM.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Marshall dedicated his life to public service and education. For decades, he worked tirelessly for the City of New York in the Hearing Handicapped and Visually Impaired division, where he was a passionate advocate for children with special needs and a steady source of support for countless families navigating the system.
A lifelong learner, Marshall earned four master’s degrees from Brooklyn College, Long Island University, and Baruch College. He was deeply committed to education, both in his professional life and personal pursuits.
In his younger years, Marshall was an avid runner and completed the New York City Marathon multiple times—a testament to his determination and perseverance.
Marshall raised his family in Monroe, New York, where he instilled strong values, a deep love for learning, and quiet strength in his two daughters, who survive him.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Diane Lederman (née Goldberg), and his parents, Gladys Shirley Lederman (née Grossberg) and Harry Lederman.
An intimate family graveside service was held to honor his life and memory.
Marshall will be remembered for his intellect, dedication, and the quiet compassion with which he moved through the world. He leaves behind a legacy of service, learning, and love.
