Lucy DiLisio Obituary

Lucy Marie DiLisio, 92, of Hollywood, FL; longtime resident of Ridgefield, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Louis J. DiLisio Sr.

Lucy, the daughter of Irish immigrant Mary Ellen Neelan and Evald Johnson was born in Mt. Kisco, NY on July 16, 1932. Lucy lived and worked in Mt. Kisco until moving to Ridgefield CT in 1963, where she resided until 2020.

Lucy was an extraordinary person whose smile and demeanor were infectious. Lucy was host to numerous large parties and holiday gatherings and was a tremendous cook. Lucy and her late husband, Lou Sr., began an Italian Sauce company, Casa DiLisio Products, Inc. in 1973 (many years of development prior to that) which ultimately grew to become recognized worldwide for their sauces, the number one seller being Pesto alla Genovese. The Casa DiLisio Sauces received numerous awards and accolades from all over the country.

Lucy was a mother to four, Linda DiLisio, Lou DiLisio Jr (wife Amanda), Les DiLisio (deceased) Lisa DiLisio Preysler (husband Charles IV / Chip) Grandchildren: Charles Preysler V (fiancé Abby) Alexandra Preysler (fiancé Sam) Louis DiLisio III, Jennifer DiLisio DeBias (husband Nick) and Great Grandchildren Samuel DeBias, Benjamin DeBias. Lucy spent her life being the best wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend anyone could ever ask for.

Lucy had many passions beyond food and entertaining but her greatest passion of all was her family and friends.

Lucy lived a very full and satisfying life for 92 years, in recent months her health declined rapidly but she was a true fighter (some call it Irish stubbornness) and she was fully engaged with her family and friends to the end.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will take place privately.

Contributions in Mrs. DiLisio's memory may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
