Les Lipkin

Leslie “Les” Lipkin, 83, of New Milford, CT, husband of the late Sandra Etlin Lipkin and Rita Boylhart Lipkin, died on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Watermark at East Hill, Southbury, CT.

Mr. Lipkin was born in Brooklyn, NY, March 7, 1942, the son of Harry and Ruth Lipkin. He attended New York City public schools and graduated from New York University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He was a Peacetime U.S. Army veteran and a retired sales manager with Proctor and Gamble Corporation.

An area resident for the past 40 years, Mr. Lipkin resided in Bethel for 10 years prior to residing in New Milford for the past 30 years. Les gave back to the community. He spent the first several years of his retirement mentoring underprivileged students in the New Milford school district, making a real difference in their lives.

Les loved to travel and visited many exciting places throughout the world. He was an avid cruiser, having visited most of the Caribbean islands.

Les had an outgoing personality and was always the life of the party. At social gatherings he would “work the room” ensuring that he talked with everyone.

Les enjoyed his favorite foods, Chinese, pastrami sandwiches and chocolate babka, among them. He also enjoyed the occasional libation (Gentleman’s Jack was his favorite).

Les is survived by his two daughters, Shari Goldman and her husband Jeffrey, and Randi Hirschman. He is also survived by a step daughter, Kelly Hoefer and her husband Mark, a step son, Richard Portella, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Mr. Lipkin was predeceased by his parents, both wives and a stepson Michael Portella.

Graveside funeral services will take place on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 1PM in the United Jewish Cemetery, 210 Gray’s Bridge Road, Brookfield, CT with Cantor Penny Kessler officiating.
