Laurie Lubus

Laurie Lubus Bustamonte, 55, of Naugatuck, died on July 20, 2021, at her home.

Laurie was born in Danbury, October 11, 1965, the daughter of Carol (Basen) Lubus of Danbury and the late Robert C. Lubus Sr.

She attended Danbury schools, graduated from Danbury High School and the National Academy of Hairdressing.

She was employed with several beauty shops and was a beauty consultant with C.V.S. She was also employed by J.C. Penney in their fine jewelry department.

A lifelong area resident, Laurie was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. She was a member of St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church.

In addition to her mother Carol, she is survived by a son, Brian Spiller, and his wife Karla, a brother Robert C. Lubus Jr. and his wife Tina, two grandchildren Mia Rose and Bryan Alexander Spiller as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves her friend of fifteen years, Edward LeBrun, and her former husband, Diego Bustamonte.

Laurie lived with a seizure disorder which hampered her life in so many ways as well as a painful back injury, but she always tried.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury.

Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at St. Anthony Church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
