Kimberley I. McSpedon, 55, died peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2022. She left this world far too soon, and will be missed dearly.
The daughter of William and Diane (Dagnall) McSpedon of Ridgefield, CT, Kim was born in Yonkers, New York on November 11, 1966, and was the eldest of 7 children. As a child she entertained her family with her unique zest for life and indomitable spirit, which continued throughout her life.
She grew up in Pound Ridge, New York, and eventually settled in New Rochelle where she lived for the last 20 years. Maya Angelou wrote, "I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Truer words could never have been spoken about Kim, as you left conversations with her feeling very important, heard and loved. There are not enough superlatives to describe how beautiful, witty, creative and effervescent she was. She loved friends, family, gifting homemade crafts and cards, seeing movies on the big screen, playing guitar and singing karaoke (not necessarily in that order). The world will be a much duller place without our “Sissy Kims”.
Kim is predeceased by her two brothers, Bill McSpedon and John McSpedon. In addition to her parents, she leaves behind a brother, Dane (Geraldine) McSpedon of Pound Ridge, and three sisters: Jennifer (Daniel) Foley of Ridgefield, CT, Laura (Michael) Scanlon of Milford, CT and Mary (Jared) Cordtz of Jamestown, RI, as well as 14 beloved nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles and many cousins. Also, all of her dear friends whom she has touched deeply, and deeply touched her.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home - 25 Catoonah Street; Ridgefield, CT. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church - 7 Pound Ridge Road; Bedford, NY. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery - Hawthorne, NY.
