Kevin Michael Coffey

Kevin Coffey passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the age of 78.

Kevin was born and raised in Queens, NY to parents Thomas and Bridgette Coffey. He was the youngest of four siblings; Thomas, Mary and Sheila. An Alumnus of Saint Francis College, Kevin became a CPA and enjoyed an accomplished corporate career until starting his own forensic accounting practice focused on bankruptcy and auditing.

With an avid lifelong interest in basketball, Kevin spent a significant part of his youth on the basketball courts of New York City. This interest later evolved to coaching club league teams in Brooklyn. As a parent, he enjoyed coaching his children’s basketball teams and was an active cheerleader in their other athletic pursuits.

He enjoyed spending his weekends playing golf with friends and family, closing those summer days grilling in his backyard. As a young man, he began spending summers down on the Jersey Shore, a tradition he continued with his family spanning more than four decades.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Christine, and his children and stepchildren Sean Coffey (Leslie), Colleen Suthers (Markley), Michael Coffey (Yasmin), Laura Sweeney (Dave) and Matt Kazimir (Emi). Kevin was also a loving and devoted grandfather to Owen, Rohma, Penelope, Dylan, and Adeline.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First Congregational Church; 103 Main Street, Ridgefield. There will be no calling hours and interment will take place privately. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse's Association (RVNA). Kane Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
