Kenneth A. Close, 70, of Ridgefield, died peacefully on August 26, 2025; he was the loving husband of the late Mary (Burke) Close. Ken was born in Stamford, CT, on October 19, 1954, a son of the late Albert and Eleanor (Jacobson) Close.
A longtime resident of Ridgefield, Ken was a retired President of Morse Moving Van Lines.
Ken attended Quinnipiac University. He spent most of his career with Morse Moving Van Lines, where he was a dedicated and hardworking presence for many years. Outside of work, Ken enjoyed skiing, golfing, and was an avid fan of sports. He treasured the lifelong friendships he had maintained since his early years. Above all, he cherished time with his family, which brought him his greatest joy.
Ken is survived by his children, Andrew Close and Emily Close; his brother, Richard Close; and several beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.
On Saturday, October 11, the immediate family will gather for a casual brunch at Tequila Escape, 439 Main Street, Ridgefield, beginning at 12:00 PM friends and loved ones are welcome to stop by, share stories, and spend time together. Please note that food and drinks will be available for purchase from the restaurant’s menu.
