Kathleen J. (Buckley) Hofmann

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Kathleen (Buckley) Hofmann on March 11, 2023, at the age of 77. Kathy was born to Marguerite “Peg” (Stack) and Arthur V. Buckley in New Milford, CT on July 29, 1945.

Kathy grew up an avid horsewoman, graduated from New Milford High School, then worked for Braniff Airlines in New York City. There, she met her beloved “Jerry” (Gerald), and they married in 1968 in New Milford, CT. After moving to Danbury, Kathy’s career landed in the healthcare field until she retired from Danbury Hospital in 2011.

Kathy was known for her quick wit and warm heart.  She loved spending time with her family near and far. Among her many interests, she loved music, and playing guitar, and was always eager for the Sunday New York Times crossword. She knitted countless gifts for friends and tiny hats for preemies in Danbury Hospital's NICU.

She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as two siblings, Dennis, and Mary Ellen. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry, her children Jennifer Hofmann and Mark (Amy) Hofmann, her granddaughters, Olivia Hofmann and Laura Hofmann, siblings Timothy (Elaine Hultengren) Buckley and Marguerite Buckley, and niece Kristen Buckley (Dana) Schutter.

As a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Kathy will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 11 AM in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury.  Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield, CT.
