Katherine M. Deierlein

August 15, 1932 - February 26, 2026

Pretty Kitty Kennedy was born in The Bronx, NY and raised in New Rochelle. Early in her career she worked at Ft. Slocum running to catch the ferry each day until she married Robert J. Deierlein on September 6, 1952. They had nine children together. As a mother she was a wonderful teacher, supporter, cheerleader, staunch defender, and certainly the best taxi driver to various sports, classes, plays, and of course family road trips. She also helped raise her grandchildren.

She was a devout Catholic and could be found every Sunday at the 10 AM Mass of St. Anthony's in Silver Lake. She shared close friendships with the Connor and Durkin families and frequently vacationed with them. She loved meeting with her Bridge Group although a deck of cards was rarely seen. 

She was predeceased by her husband and brother Tom Kennedy. She is survived by her nine children, Mary Fitzpatrick (Ken), Charlie Deierlein (Jean), Robert Deierlein (Sarah Doehring), Rita Ball, Susie Deierlein, Jeanne Tepper (Jeff), Kitty Santoro (Kevin), Tom Deierlein (Mary Beth), and Bill Deierlein (Andrea); her 12 grandchildren, Ken, Doug, Katie, Stephanie, Brendan, Teddy, Harry, Meredith, Kevin, Robert, Thomas, and James; as well as 6 great grandchildren Connor, Hadley, Aiden, Audrey, Caroline, and Ella.  

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, CT. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery; 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne NY.
