Karen M. (Kapica) Saunders

Karen M. Saunders, 62, of Bethel, formerly of New Fairfield, wife of Paul J. Saunders, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Danbury Hospital shortly after her admission.

Mrs. Saunders was born in Queens, NY on October 23, 1963, a daughter of the late Eugene S. and Dolores (Hess) Kapica. She attended NY schools.

An area resident for the past forty-five years, she was first employed with Union Carbide in their accounting division and presently with Dattco Motorcoach.

She was a former C.C.D.instructor.

In addition to her husband Paul, she is survived by a daughter Abigail E. Saunders, a son Paul C. Saunders, a sister Susan Moran, two brothers Eugene Kapica and David Kapica as well as several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 212 Main St., Danbury with the Rev. Gregg D. Mecca officiating.

Burial will follow in Mountainview Cemetery, New Fairfield.

There will be no calling hours.
