Karen Albano Obituary

Karen A. Albano, 56, of Ridgefield, died on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. She was the loving wife of Michael T. Albano.

Karen was born on December 28, 1966 in Stamford, CT; a daughter of the late Chester and Jane (Narajka) Lesnikowski. Karen grew up in the Springdale section of Stamford. She graduated from Stamford Catholic High School in 1984 and attended Sacred Heart College.  She married Michael on September 16, 1989 at St. Cecelia’s Church in Stamford.

A resident of Ridgefield since 1995, Karen was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. Karen shared her creative spirit with others as she was often found decorating her home and planning for family parties and get-togethers. Karen is especially known for her birthday party planning and holiday decorating. Karen was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and baking, was an excellent listener and sounding board for her family giving out wise and practical advice.  Karen enjoyed her summers on Cape Cod the last several of which were spent at her beachfront condo.  After raising her four children Karen turned her attention to being the best grandmother for her grandson Theo. Her family will remember her the most for being the glue that held her family together, doing for all, and making her home a safe haven for her family.

Karen is survived by her husband of 33 years, Michael; and their 4 children: Stephen Albano and his partner, Noelle Mayne; Caroline Albano and her partner, Tom Starkey; Daniel Albano and Andrew Albano. In addition, Karen is survived by a grandson; Theodore Starkey and her special cousin; Gregory Narajka and his wife, Suzanne, father-in-law Terence Albano, mother-in-law Barbara Albano, sister-in-law Teresa Petrino & her husband Ed Petrino, godson Patrick Petrino, and nieces Jillian & Amanda Petrino. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.
