Judith E. Suchy

Judith E. Suchy, 82, of New Fairfield, died on Friday, October 17, 2025 at her residence. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years Robert J. Suchy. 

Judy was born in Pittsfield, MA on March 16, 1943, a daughter to the late Gerald and Doris (Young) Curtin. She graduated from St. Bernard’s High School, Fitchburg, MA, from Stonehill College, North Easton, MA with a BS in English; and attained her Master's Degree in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University.

Judy was a resident of New Fairfield since 1965. Mrs. Suchy was a retired elementary school librarian with the Consolidated School of New Fairfield. Mrs. Suchy was very involved in her community - volunteering at the New Fairfield Public Library, New Fairfield Thrift Shop, and active member of St. Edward the Confessor Church. In addition, she was also active at the New Fairfield Senior Center. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her many friends.  She especially loved spending time with her four beloved grandchildren.  

Judy is survived by a daughter, Laura Vaughn and her husband Antony of Wolcott, CT, two sons; Rob Suchy of Roswell, GA and Dave Suchy and his wife Elena Togashi of Arlington, MA, two sisters; Mary Curtin and her husband Duane Clinker of Cranston, RI and Liz Curtin of Peabody, MA and Judy's four grandchildren Michaela, Ella, Kiyo and Koda and her many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 10 AM at Saint Edward the Confessor Church; 21 Brush Hill Road, New Fairfield. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.
