Judith Irene Mannes

Judith Irene Mannes of Ridgefield, CT died peacefully in her home at the age of 84, on May 2, 2025. Judi was born on November 25, 1940 in Manhattan. The daughter of Gert and Dave Mannes who predeceased her. Judi grew up in the Bronx. As a young adult she moved to Mount Vernon N.Y. She moved to Ridgefield, CT in 1977 where she lived until her death.  

Judi leaves behind her sisters Pamela and Suzanne Mannes, predeceased by Pamela’s wife Jo DeMenna. She is survived by her four daughters Denise (Bud) Randall of Athens, VT, Jean (Stephen) Hamilton of Ridgefield, CT, Marnie (Shannon) Schlosser of Bismarck, ND, and Kyra Materasso of Shelton, CT. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren Alex (Vanessa), Max (Ashlea), Josh (Beth), Nicole (Alex), Stephen (Helena), Megan, Jared, David (Emily), and Chandler (Allison). As well as nine great grandchildren Cody, Gideon, Ronin, Quillion, Sophie, Jane, Tyler, Ethan, and Coen and her niece Emily and nephew Jacob and a wealth of other family and friends. 

Judi was very patriotic, she loved walking on the beach collecting seashells, and was an avid Mets fan. She also loved sunflower farms, strawberry picking, bowling, casinos, sewing, the zoo, traveling and gardening. Most of all she loved her family, friends, and her wild and domestic critters.

Please join us in paying tribute to the life of Judi Mannes at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, CT on May, 7 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm. There will be a short time allotted for anyone who wishes to share fond memories or stories. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association in her name. The family would like to thank all of her caregivers and nurses for the amazing care provided.
