Joseph A. Seri, 89, of Danbury, died on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at his home.
Mr. Seri was born in Danbury, on October 7, 1932, a son of the late Cesare and Rose (Ross) Seri. He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 1951, and also from Becker College in Worcester, MA with a degree in Accounting.
In his early years, Mr. Seri was an accountant and office manager for Castro Convertible Company of Danbury, Harold Hibbard’s Danbury-Brewster Lumber Company and for Danbury Floors.
A U.S. Army Korean veteran, Mr. Seri was a member of the American Legion, Catholic War Veterans, and the Korean War Veterans, as well as the Danbury chapter of AARP.
He enjoyed bus trips with his AARP friends to Mohegan Sun Casino, wintering in Ft. Myers, FL, and was a fan of major league baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox.
Mr. Seri was a member and stalwart of St. Gregory the Great Parish of Danbury.
He is survived by his sister, Teresa Carlo, and brother-in-law, Frank Ferrauiolo both of Danbury.
n addition to his parents. Mr. Seri was predeceased by his three brothers, Anthony “Ozzie” Seri, Michael “Tweezer” Seri, and John Seri, three sisters, Mary Stavola, Florence Klezovich and Jeannie Ferrauiolo, and by a nephew, John Seri.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 11 A.M. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Rd., Danbury, CT. Interment will follow is St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury with military honors.
Friends will be received from 10:15 am to 10:45 am at St. Gregory the Great Church.
