Joseph Pinkos Jr. Obituary

Joseph F. Pinkos, Jr., 66, of Bridgewater, husband of Cheryl (Cerno) Pinkos, died on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Regional Hospice & Home Care Center, Danbury.

Mr. Pinkos was born in Danbury on April 15, 1959 to Antoinette "Toni" (Romeo) and Joseph F. Pinkos, Sr. He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School with the Class of 1977.

He obtained an Associates degree in Electrical Engineering from Waterbury State Technical College.

Mr. Pinkos was a retired Senior Field Service Engineer after dedicating 40 years to Thermofisher Scientific.

A lifelong area resident, Joe and his family moved to Bridgewater in 1985 and he built a homestead for his family that he was extremely proud of. He always kept busy around the house doing projects which brought him a great sense of pride.

In addition to his beloved wife of 45 years, he is survived by two sons, Dr. Bradford Pinkos and his wife Heather, and Tyler Pinkos and his wife Lindsay, a sister Diane Abrams and her husband Paul, his father in law Emil Cerno, Sr., brother in law Emil Cerno Jr. and his wife Karen, three nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends. Joe also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Molly & Gracie whom brought him so much happiness, especially throughout his extensive battle with his disease.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pinkos was predeceased by his mother in law, Patricia Cerno.

Joe’s family & friends were everything to him. Nothing made him happier than days spent with his sons, being the captain of his boat, bike riding and playing pickleball with his Bridgewater buddies. He was a life long Dallas Cowboys fan and his 60th birthday was spent at AT&T Stadium with his boys. Football was a big part of Joe’s life, being an assistant coach of Pop Warner football.

Joe was a warrior that fought cancer with courage and grace since 2006. It was an extremely tough road, but Joe was even tougher. He loved his doctors at Phelps Memorial to whom we are eternally grateful, especially Dr. Anna Komorowski, Dr. Michael Grasso, Erica Bello-Rodrigues, Stephanie Murano and Chris Moon.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Regional Hospice which made his final days comfortable.
